What got us fired up was when we saw the logbook... Ma'm Carmela was there!!! -- ofcourse with Bilog's group... (bruho ka Bilog hindi mo sinasabi) and we were already terribly late.... we didn't expect them to wait for us but we were excited to meet them in the trails
Everyone had a dog in hand the rain was still manageable when we started... but drenched wet and with Lipa's climate, it was friggin' cold
Just sitting still was enough to send you into full-body-chills. This climb was going to be a fast one... with as few as possible, really really short breaks...
We got word from fellow hikers that Bilog's group used a different trail, which was already a dead trail according to the locals ....
Halfway up we break the group, those who could still push though to the peak and those who went back because of the muddy, slippery trail....
Going up the last part of the trails, the ropes really came in very handy to keep us from slipping.
we only stayed at the peak for 10 minutes, enjoyed having the peak to ourselves, risked soaking our cameras (ang kulit talaga hehe) and hurriedly came down ... it was foggy, very cold and pouring HARD
Pagbaba was another adventure. Halfway down Manabo, our guide led us to a stream and used that as a trail because the dirt trail was very slippery na. Grabe, sumasalok ng tubig ang sapatos namin! But I'd rather have that na than black-and-blue gluteals...
Going down, nakasalubong kami ng hindi bababa sa 30 hikers, some even planning to camp overnight
back at jumpoff: Yahoo! Kitakits uli sa next adventure!
Bilog and Ma'am Peru, thanks for the surprise! (kahit hindi tayo nagkita hehe, at kahit umuulan, it made our day! San Pablo mountaineers daw o hehe ) Kwentuhan sa next akyat
