- Bring enough clothing and provisions.
- Respect local customs and traditions.
- Trek gently; Avoid widening trails and unnecessarily trampling vegetation.
- Use established campsites; Avoid expanding the camp area.
- Carry down all trash.
- Pick up litter as you encounter these.
- Use established latrines if provided; otherwise dig a cathole.
- No soaps or detergents nor bodily discharges in a water source or waterway.
- Avoid campfires. If you must, use dead wood.
- Smokers must look after dropped embers and ashes. No smoking while trekking. Ashes and cigarette butts should be disposed in a covered container and carried out with you.
- Keep the groups small.
- If you must drink alcoholic beverages, do it moderately.
- If you must listen to music, use an earphone, and only in the campsite if possible.
- Be considerate of other campers. Speak softly and save rowdy games and horseplay for another time.
